Four Promotions Kick Start Career Progression at HFL

6 February 2023

HFL has started the year with well-deserved promotions for Gerry Ashplant, Mark Gavey, Hollie Read and Stacey Le Page across the Compliance, Fund Accounting, Fund Administration and People & Culture teams.

All four have contributed to the continued growth and success of HFL.

Gerry joined the company in April 2022 as Compliance Manager. Leveraging her skills as a past regulator and a compliance consultant has allowed her to quickly move up to become a Senior Manager in the Compliance & Risk team.

The regulatory landscape today is highly complex and constantly changing; having the ability to critically analyse information is key to the work of the Compliance & Risk team, and ultimately our clients’ financial success. Gerry’s promotion to Senior Manager ensures that HFL is facing the changing landscape head-on and managing risks for our business and that of our clients to the highest level.

Mark has been promoted to Assistant Manager within the Fund Accounting team. Mark joined HFL at the beginning of 2018 and looks after a number of our venture capital funds as well as working with the wider fund accounting team. He also provides invaluable guidance and training for our trainee fund accountants. Mark now holds line manager duties for the trainees within the team and takes the lead on monitoring team deadlines as well as having primary supervision of the day-to-day tasks undertaken by the team. Mark recently celebrated his five-year anniversary with HFL.

Hollie has been promoted to Fund Administrator. Hollie joined us as a Trainee Fund Administrator in May 2022, and has quickly proven herself as a team player and in her day-to-day duties. Hollie plans to commence her Chartered Governance Institute qualification in March this year.

Stacey has been promoted to People & Culture Officer. Stacey has worked hard on supporting HFL in our continued growth, and since she joined in late 2021 has recruited nearly 30 new members of staff. Stacey has also led the implementation of our successful trainee programme which launched last year. Her new role will see Stacey taking on greater responsibility within the People & Culture team and overseeing a wider range of HR functions.

Matt Westgarth-Smith, MD, said: “We are thrilled to announce the very well-deserved promotions of Gerry, Mark, Hollie and Stacey. These promotions reflect the significant contributions these individuals have made to the business over the past 12 months, and also highlight our commitment to provide the environment and opportunity for our team to develop and excel.”
