HFL has announced a series of well-earned promotions across various departments, recognising individuals who have consistently demonstrated excellence, leadership, and commitment to our business and clients.
Managing Director Matt Westgarth-Smith said: “The board and I were delighted to announce the below promotions following our recent performance appraisal cycle. These promotions are not only highly deserved and a testament to the efforts and achievements of these individuals, but also a true reflection of our culture here at HFL, where we encourage everyone to be the best they can be and to continually strive for personal growth. HFL’s Venture Capital Funds team have seen 9 promotions – most notably Megan Thomas, who has been promoted to Director and Head of Funds.
Megan Thomas – Director (Non-Board), Head of Funds
Meg has been an invaluable part of HFL for five years, having started as a Senior Manager in our Fund Accounting team, she has continually proven herself as a natural leader, an extremely knowledgeable asset across the Funds department, and a key figure in driving business success and our continuing rapid growth. Her client relationship skills and strategic vision make her the ideal person to lead our funds business and has earned her a well-deserved promotion to Director and Head of Funds.
Holly Ingrouille – Fund Accounting Senior Manager
Holly has been a core member of the Venture Capital Funds team for nearly three years and now steps into the role of Senior Manager. Leading numerous clients in both the UK and Guernsey, Holly has demonstrated exceptional client management and leadership. She is a true team player, always ready to support and uplift her colleagues.
Brad Ford – Fund Accounting Manager
Since joining HFL in April 2022, Brad has swiftly risen through the ranks, now taking on the role of Fund Accounting Manager. His determination, motivation, and commitment to process improvement make him a standout leader. Brad is known for his dedication to training and mentoring team members while fostering strong client relationships.
Monica Camara – Fund Accounting Manager
Monica has been with HFL since 2019 and has shown remarkable growth over the years. Her people skills, leadership, and confidence have made her a key figure in the Fund Accounting team. Since her last promotion, Monica has led one of our main clients and contributed significantly to various projects. We’re thrilled to see her step into this managerial role!
Holly Pearson – Fund Administration Manager
Holly’s journey at HFL started over four years ago in the Trust team before transitioning to the Fund team two years ago. Her rapid career progression, most recently from Assistant Manager in March 2024 to Fund Administration Manager, is a testament to her dedication, client rapport, and ability to streamline efficiencies.
Alanna Symphorien – Fund Accounting Assistant Manager
Since joining HFL in February 2024, Alanna has made a significant impact, leading client accounts, mentoring junior team members, and embracing new systems with enthusiasm. Her proactive attitude and ability to maintain a positive outlook, even in high-pressure situations, make her a valuable addition to the managerial team.
Alex Setters – Fund Administration Assistant Manager
Alex has been a steadfast member of HFL for nearly three years, taking charge of a pool of clients in the administration team. His commitment to client satisfaction, resilience in overcoming challenges, and outstanding contributions to the business have earned him this well-deserved promotion.
Rosie Smith – Fund Accountant 1
Rosie celebrates her first anniversary at HFL on March 18 and has already secured a promotion! Her initiative, recent exam successes, and ability to build strong client relationships make her a valuable team member. Rosie’s willingness to contribute to reporting and additional projects is truly commendable.
Chloe Galsworthy – Fund Accountant 1
Chloe joined HFL as a trainee Fund Accountant in August 2023 and has rapidly become a key player in the accounts team. She continually pushes herself to grow, developing expertise in Venture Capital and Funds. Her positive, team-focused approach and kindness make her a standout team member.
Emma Sparks and Carla Brun celebrate promtions in the Trust team
Emma Sparks - Senior Trust Accounting Officer
Emma’s experience and commitment to delivering on complex tasks and meeting deadlines with very little oversight is a testament to her professional approach and is why she is worthy of this promotion.
Carla Brun – Senior Trust Administrator
Since joining HFL in November 2021, Carla has been a beacon of positivity and support within the Trust team. Managing a demanding portfolio with skill and initiative, she has also played a key role in training new team members and improving internal procedures.
Within the Operations team, there are 3 promotions.
Claire Le Page – Finance Operations Executive
Claire joined HFL in February 2023 and has been a key part of the finance team since. This promotion recognises her efforts in improving processes and creating efficiencies for HFL. Claire is always happy to help and consistently delivers high quality work.
Grant Dowinton – Senior Operations Officer
Grant has been a key member of our operations team since joining HFL in June 2022. His attention to detail, process-driven mindset, and proactive approach have significantly strengthened our team. Always striving for efficiency and collaboration, he consistently enhances workflows and supports his colleagues. We’re delighted to promote him to Senior Operations Officer—an achievement well deserved!
Adelaide Allen – Senior People & Culture Administrator
Adelaide has been an integral part of the People & Culture team since April 2023. Completing her CIPD Level 3 in 2024, she has excelled in recruitment and relationship-building during a crucial period of growth. Her promotion reflects her dedication to improving initiatives and ensuring the team operates smoothly.
